It's a holiday weekend--time for leisure rather than labor--with four days of events planned at Maui Arts & Cultural Center (The MACC). There's something for everyone at The MACC!

SOJA with special guests Michael Franti & Spearhead
Friday, Aug. 29, 5:30 p.m. A& B Amphitheater
SOJA's music, a blend of reggae, go-go, D.C. hardcore, Latin, rock and hip-hop, is about finding the happiness and peace that everyone deserves; their live shows are an explosion of energy and positivity. Michael Franti also knows about the power of music: how it can inspire, uplift and make people want to dance or cry. He and his band Spearhead are known for the communal spirit they create. Tickets are $44.50 and $85 for the VIP area.
Tuck & Patti
Saturday, Aug. 30, 7:30 p.m. McCoy Studio
Over a career of jazz, R&B and New Age recordings, husband-and-wife duo Tuck & Patti have produced remarkable music with the comforting textures of guitar and voice. Tuck Andress studied classical guitar at Stanford University; Patti Cathcart is classically trained as a vocalist. The two began to perform as a duo back in the '80s and formulated their own mellow sound--music that's soothing yet whimsical, as can be heard in their signature songs, "Castles Made of Sand" and "Time After Time." Tickets are $45.

Starry Night Cinema Features "FROZEN"
Sunday, Aug. 31, 7:30 p.m. A & B Amphitheater
There's no school the next day, so enjoy a Sunday evening outdoor movie as a fun, free family event. Come early to stake your place on the lawn (gates open at 6 p.m.) and enjoy the pre-film festivities: live music, prizes and art activities for the kids. Bring your own low-backed beach chairs or blankets and enjoy this walk-in movie night, presenting Disney's animated feature, "FROZEN." The story is based on "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Anderson. Elsa, princess of Arendelle, possesses cryokinetic powers, with which she is able to produce ice, frost and snow at will. But it all goes wrong and her sister, Anna, becomes frozen, only to be thawed by an act of true love.
