On Sunday 9/11/11 at 3:30 pm, in remembrance of the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, Maui Choral Arts Association will be sponsoring a performance of the Mozart Requiem as part of a nation-wide observance of 9/11. Known as the "Rolling Requiem," this free performance will be held at Kihei Baptist Chapel, 1655 S. Kihei Rd. Under the baton of MCAA Assistant Conductor Gary Shin-Leavitt, a chorus of volunteer singers from all over Maui, distinguished soloists Lisa Paulson, Sarah Oppenheim-Beggs, Mario Salamone, and Robert E. Wills, and accompanist Beth Fobbe-Wills will offer this choral masterpiece as a solemn 10-year remembrance of this event. Anyone who wishes may join the chorus for this one-time performance. There will be an informal "rehearsal" from 1-2:30 pm, doors will open at 3pm and the free performance will begin at 3:30.
