“Looks like he’s having heart attack,” says the female 911 caller, “and I want him to burn in hell!” Police, medics head out.

11:35 a.m., Kapalua Bay
Adventure kayaks—one orange, two green—gone missing somewhere off Kapalua Point, says the tour guide calling 911. NWS High Surf Warning in place today. MFD Engine 3, Air One helicopter get busy with possible rescue attempts. But all those kayakers are soon found, doing A-OK.
4:20 p.m., Kahului Airport
“Firearm just confiscated from a would-be airline passenger,” 911 is being told. Police unit ordered to front entrance. Will meet up with security there.
8:21 p.m., Paukukalo
Hawaiian Homelands teenager grabbed keys and drove off in family vehicle without permission. 911 alerts area police.

8:30 a.m., Kahului
Couple physically fighting with each other outside their house. A brother in the family tells 911 the male seems to be trying to carry her away. Police go.
9:06 a.m., Makawao
“They drove off without paying after filling up half their tank with gasoline,” 911 is told. Police look for a Ford Bronco.
9:48 a.m., Ha‘iku
Pickup truck huli in ditch off Kaupakalua. “Unattended, apparently it’s been there ever since last night,” says 911 caller. Squad car goes.
11:46 a.m., Makawao/Wailuku
Graffiti found sprayed near restaurant earlier. Now report of criminal property damage on Central Avenue. Police go cover both complaints.
12:30 p.m., Kahului
Fender-bender inside Foodland parking lot. “No injuries, but strong language barrier,” says 911. Squad car goes.
12:58 p.m., Kahului
“Forgery” reported at a furniture store. Police go.
1:58 p.m., Kahikinui
Male reportedly fell, “three broken ribs now as a result,” they say. 911 assigns Kula MFD 13 as first responder. “But that’s a long ride to hospital by road with broken ribs,” comments the on-duty Fire Battalion Commander. Air One helicopter is scrambled to go help.
2:40 p.m., Hana Highway
Windy. Downed tree blocking the highway, says police officer over radio. “It’ll be 45 minutes before a state crew can get there,” responds 911 dispatcher. Half-hour later, it’s reopened.
2:53 p.m., Ha‘iku
Two males wearing masks, long-sleeved black shirts and camouflage pants, said walking around land with air rifles or maybe real rifles. Caller, from distance, cannot tell which. Police go looking for them.
6:45 p.m., Makena
“Red flares seen bursting in air over ocean waters near Molokini island.” MFD Ladder 14 in Wailea is asked to respond. Kahului Rescue 10 joins in. “Eyewitness says a tugboat was shooting the flares,” says one arriving fireman. Coast Guard soon says the tug was doing “flare training” without prior notification to anyone.
