Between miles three and four, a woman went huli off downhill tour bicycle. Unconscious. Medic 7 assigned as rapid transport to Maui Memorial Medical Center, once others can get her near Makawao.

Electrical power islandwide blackout, except for West Maui. Late afternoon, power flicks bright back on, then everything blacks out again within 30 seconds. Back full on again in half-an-hour. No news word commonly available to the public regarding what’s happening, what’s causing all that, nor why.

Juvenile male in custody at KMart. Accused of shoplifting boys’ apparel. “Also wanted as a juvenile runaway” rejoins 911. Police go.

A police voice over radio says 454 people will be “stranded” and may be milling about Kahului airport today. Whether as a result of the ATA shutdown not specified. The plan, that officer tells 911, is to expedite them off-island in four different flights leaving Maui throughout the day.

Callers are alarmed about man lying in a ditch, who “is highly intoxicated,” say arriving police officers. 911 cancels the call for medics.
