Tuesday, May 27

8:35 a.m., Kahului
Dead cat “on Pu‘unene, near Koula Street,” police officer tells 911. Animal control folks notified.

8:43 a.m., Spreckelsville
Young woman said walking along by Hana Highway holding her head as though in great pain. “Appears disoriented.” Squad car asked to respond.

9:51 a.m., Wailuku
More dead cat reports: one on Dairy Road at Pu‘unene, north shoulder; the other “on Wells above Kanoa,” the reporting officer tells 911 “they’ll need a shovel for that one.”

11:30 a.m., Ku‘ula
Report of house fire on a remote West Maui hillside, across from the Puamana area. One victim, radio says, will definitely require a backboard airlift, via the Air One helicopter.

12:33 p.m., Kihei
Code 1, off to the side now, near St. Theresa’s Church. Two vehicles involved, no injuries.

3:06 p.m., Wahikuli
Cars crash. Possible entrapment inside one vehicle. Emergency services dispatched.

Wednesday, May 28

9:36 a.m., Ma‘alaea
Pickup truck “weaving all over the road,” says the 911 caller, “while passing by Buzz’s Wharf restaurant.” Area police cars alerted.

11 a.m., Kihei
Chest pain case. Caller slumped at phone booth outside major supermarket. Emergency responses activated.

8:45 p.m., Makawao
Caller says unknown male showed up at his home “looking disoriented.” The stranger “says his name is José.” Police go.

Thursday, May 29

11 a.m., Kahakuloa
Dude ranch tourist reportedly kicked in the chest by a horse. Police, medics.

11:40 a.m., Kula
Double car head-on crash fronting King Kekaulike High School on Highway 37. MFC 5, medics, dispatched.

4:02 p.m., Ha‘iku
Caller reporting trees on fire near Kaupakalua Road at Holoa. Fire and police units go.

4:43 p.m., Haleakala
Multiple cars crash report.

5:15 p.m., Pa‘ia
Fender-bender near skate park turns into a big squabble between several males and females. Police go.

5:27 p.m., Paukakalo
“Smoke seen rear of Sack N Save near Tri Isle,” says 911. MFC Engine 1 rolls out.

5:33 p.m., Ha‘iku
“Tree fell on electric wires,” says 911 caller. “They’re down on Lilikoi Road but still taut and attached to a nearby house.” Fire unit dispatched.

6:20 p.m., Napili Sunrise
Anonymous caller annoyed by small truck with “excessively loud” boom box. Squad car assigned.

Friday, May 30

1:35 p.m., Honokahau
Brush fire in the valley. MFC Engine 1, Rescue 10, go emergency.

2:15 p.m., Waiehu
“He tried to hang himself,” says 911 “But it didn’t work, and now he’s running.” Police look for that young man.

5:02 p.m., Olinda
“Chlorine gas leak suspected near reservoir,” says 911. HAZMAT protocol activated. Supervisor cautions police to be aware of wind directions so they do not stand where hazardous gas may be blowing. But, some say that they suspect a sensitive sensor may be reason for the gas leak alarm going off, as has happened before.

9:16 p.m., Kihei
Householder says somebody threw a rock at his house. The alleged rock-thrower now headed for the skate park, per caller. Two others with him. Police track this.

Saturday, May 31

11:11 a.m., Kihei
“Females, three of them, yelling at a male to come outside and fight,” says 911. “They arrived in a silver pickup.” Police go.

Sunday, June 1

3:30 p.m., Hana
Caller says unknown persons tore the front panel off a big electrical fuse box at the public tennis courts. Is afraid that somebody, maybe children, may accidentally be shocked or even electrocuted. 911 asks a patrol officer to go investigate.

6:44 p.m., Moloka‘i
“Irate housewife with knife in her hand.” Police go.
