Two different fatal motorcycle crash deaths occurred within two hours on Monday. Maui Police Department press releases: “On Monday, June 2, at approximately 1805 hours, a single motor vehicle collision occurred at Honoapi‘ilani Highway (30), 0.8 miles west of mile post marker No.10, Lahaina. The crash involved one vehicle, a Honda 600 motorcycle operated by 32-year-old William Rodriguez of Kihei. The crash occurred as the operator the Honda lost control of his motorcycle and collided into the guardrail. The operator was thrown from his motorcycle, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.”
“On Monday, June 2, 2008, at about 7:57 p.m., a single motor vehicle crash occurred on Haleakala Highway (378), 0.1 miles south of Aolewa Street in Kula. The vehicle collided into a rock embankment on the right shoulder. Lin Robson, 56, of the United Kingdom, who was seated in the rear passenger seat, died of injuries. The involvement of speed, drugs and alcohol has not been determined as the investigation is still pending.”

Near West Kuiaha, man claims he was walking alongside the road when a car suddenly pulled over. The driver jumped out, he says, and punched him. “Has no idea why.” Police go.
10:07 a.m., Wailuku Industrial Park
Caller blurts “Send the police,” then disconnects. Call traced to a mortgage company. Cops go.
12:17 p.m., Lahaina
Code 1. Possible injuries. “Go emergency” to Shaw Street and Honoapi‘ilani Highway.
1:40 p.m., Lahaina
Fender bender involving a county water vehicle. Police go Lahainaluna Road.
2:21 p.m., Kahului Airport
Trash bin fire by rental car company. Still burning cigarette butt inflamed papers, says responding MFC unit.

Female keeps circling in Jeep around the restaurant yelling dirty words at a guy using the outside pay phone. People dining on the patio said to be upset at the unwelcome disturbance. Police go.

Cars crashed. One person, it is said, may be trapped inside the crumpled heaps fronting the Pi‘ikea shopping mall. Police first, medics, then MFC Ladder 14 crew soon report “No extrication needed.”

Report of new major brushfire in the same area as before. All kinds of fire trucks head out.

“Juveniles, at least a dozen, gang-fighting behind mall department store, says 911. By the time police can get there, all have disappeared.

Tractor-trailer rig and Chevy Impala bang. No injuries, though. Off to the side. Police go.

“Teenager says mom and stepdad may be in a physical fight,” per 911. Male allegedly drank “a whole bottle of vodka.” Police go.

Elderly male fell. “He’s bleeding to death!” wife screams at 911, before hanging up. Various emergency response units are activated.

“Rave party under way,” says 911 caller. “About 100 people, cows turned loose among them, all over the roadway and pasture!” Police head there.
