Homeless-looking female enters a busy shopping mall office urging workers to get involved because “another homeless female, like me, lays dying, right now, in the open field right behind here.” Office staff calls 911 with that report. MFC Engine 6 and medics are dispatched.

Wednesday, July 9

7 p.m., Lahaina
Male Caucasian ordered a large pizza, callers say, then grabbed it and left without paying. Police go.

7:27 p.m., Maliko Gulch Landing
“Bunch of guys fighting each other, armed with sticks,” says the alarmed 911 caller. Could not tell 911 any more since they quickly left the area. A lone patrol officer responds from Pa‘ia.

9:40 p.m., Kahului
Report of loud midweek party taking place on Ni‘ihau Street. “About a dozen people whooping and hollering!” says the annoyed 911 caller. Police assigned.

Thursday, July 10

7:35 a.m., Unknown
“Pit bull jumped the fence. Now it’s charging around our yard, trying to attack the cats!” says the alarmed 911 caller. Squad car.

10:55 a.m., Kula
A guy, reportedly just released from prison, is seen smashing the back window of a parked pickup truck and then rummaging around inside three houses above Cafe 808, near Holy Ghost Church. Police assigned.

11:48 a.m., Unknown
“Want you to head there,” 911 tells a police officer, “because if the medics don’t transport him, there’s a warrant for that guy.”

Noon, Wailuku
Theft reported. Unidentified male left with a pair of shorts, not paid for. “Drove off in a Honda.” Police.

3 p.m., Kula
Couple said to be in the middle of divorce proceedings screaming at each other. Their immediate dispute is reportedly about who “stole” the computer. “Being held apart from assaulting each other by area construction workers,” says 911. Police go.

4:40 p.m., Kihei
Report of a 30-year-old female hurling things at her own mother. Police head there, but reportedly, the feisty daughter fled at first sound of patrol car sirens.

10:15 p.m., Paukukalo
Phone complaint to 911 says church services are much too loud. Caller wishes to remain anonymous.

10:20 p.m., Napili
Coast Guard alerts 911 that flares were seen in offshore skies. Police patrols, fire, are asked to keep a safety eye out, by 911.

Friday, July 11

8:46 a.m., Wailuku
“Woman suspected to be suffering alcoholic withdrawal. Disoriented,” callers tell 911. Medics, police, go.

10: 15 a.m., Ma‘alaea
“Daughter in middle of the highway.” No explanation. Squad car.

10:34 a.m., Hawaiian Homes Paukukalo
Cars crash with injuries. MFC Engine 10, medics, police, roll.

10:39 a.m., Makena
Female fell off her bike. Says she’s hurt. Road rash. Medics, police, assigned.

1:23 p.m., Ha‘iku
“Motor vehicles crashed with injuries,” says 911. MFC Engine 2, medics, assigned go.

1:56 p.m., Kahana
Car break-in near condos. Squad car.

3:02 p.m., Kahului
“Loud music coming from a van” is the complaint. Squad car.

3:50 p.m., Ulumalu
“Responsible says another male is calling him out onto the road fronting his house to fight like men,” says 911 radio. Police go.

4:55 p.m., Lahaina
Male in camouflage shorts said seen masturbating beside corner garbage cans in parking lot. Visible from nearby gym. “Open lewdness,” says the 911 dispatcher, who seems pained at even announcing the subject. Sends a police officer.

5 p.m., Pu‘uloa Beach
“Group of males sharing pau hana booze, and it smells like marijuana, too,” says caller. Police go.

5:40 p.m., Kihei
“Theft at Longs Drugs,” says 911. “Male in T-shirt and baggy pants took liquor, but left it on the sidewalk when chased. One employee is still following him.” Police join the chase and nab him.

8:55 p.m., Wailuku
“Burglary going on behind Maui Disposal off Imi Kala,” says 911. Police speed there.

9:56 p.m., Kihei
“Green Honda Civic burning rubber, driving recklesssly on Pi‘ilani,” says 911. Area police advised.

10 p.m., Unknown
Police officers announce arrests of several juveniles and one adult. No charges specified.

10:32 p.m., Hawaiian Homes
“Abuse in progress, physical. Go emergency.”

10:34 p.m., Maui Meadows
“Large, loud party. Blaring rap music!” say complaining neighbors. Police go.

10:40 p.m., Wailuku Country Estates
“Dogs barking nonstop, drums, loud music and a crowded party scene,” say complaining callers. Police go. Soon the birthday party givers shut it all down.
