Soon, on another phone, the pet’s aggrieved owner calls to report it missing and is able to describe her missing pet in great detail. “It’s a match,” says the squad car cop who had corralled the wandering tortoise. 911 asks him to keep it safe til its owner arrives.

“Coast Guard saying there’s a catamaran in distress,” announces a female lifeguard over radio. Acknowledging, 911 alerts MFC Engine 6, but Ladder 14 asks for the job as being more in their territory, and gets it. Jet Ski 6 is also launched. At last report the disabled craft had drifted towards White Rock.
