SMYLE

An event to support South Maui youth.

The Third Annual South Maui Youth Life Expo (SMYLE) will feature groups and organizations offering activities and services to South Maui youth. This free event will be held at the Kihei Community Center on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A free pancake breakfast for kids ages 12 and under will be provided by the Kiwanis Club of South Maui. Pancakes, sausage and coffee will be available for $5.00. Attendees are entertained all day by Master of Ceremonies Jay Boyer, DJ Shark In The Water, as well as live performances by musicians Kahala, Earl Love, Linda Lambert and Judy’s Gang Tap Dancers, who have all donated their time to the event. The kids will also enjoy demonstrations and activities by A–Z Bouncing Castles, Maui Radio Control Modelers, Lahaina Arts Society, Inline Skating, Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, Maui Keiki Paniolo, Unity Church and others.

New and notable exhibitors at this year’s SMYLE are: A–Z Bouncing Castles, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui, Child and Family Services, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, Hawaiian Job Corps, Imua Family Services, The Institute for Family Enrichment, Kihei Charter School, Kihei Youth Center, Lahaina Arts Society, Maui Family Support Services, Maui Fire Department, Maui Keiki Paniolo, Maui RC Modelers, Maui Youth and Family Services and Valley Isle Timing Association.

Door prizes, auction items and support have been provided by A–Z Bouncy Castles, Café LaPlage, Cruiser Phil’s Volcano Riders, Ellen Dickinson Massage, The Greek Bistro Restaurant, Jawz Tacos, Judie McCullough Massage, Kihei Café, Lily Moon Salon, Main Street Bistro, Maui Golf and Sports Park, KONI Radio, Powerhouse Gym, Ranata Lloyd Massage, Stella Blues Restaurant, Tip Ups Restaurant, Roy’s Restaurant, Seawatch Restaurant and others.
