‘Ao‘ao O Na Loko I‘a O Maui (Association of the Fishponds of Maui) will host a community work day on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 to 11 a.m., in which volunteers can help restore Ko‘ie‘ie Fishpond in Kihei. Volunteers will help unearth rocks buried and submerged in the sand and place them back on the fishpond wall. Lighter-duty tasks include collecting coral rubble, which will be laid on the surface of the wall, adding stability.
People of all ages are welcome to participate; about 20 volunteers will be needed. If you are interested in lending a hand, contact Joylynn Paman at joy@mauifishpond.com or call 359-1172 to reserve your spot.
