WET Workshop for Teachers

The Hawai‘i Nature Center in ‘Iao Valley is proud to offer a free Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) workshop on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be a fun-filled day of great information and many hands-on activities. Guest speakers include Kat Lui from the East Maui Watershed Partnership. Participants will earn the Project WET curriculum guide at the end of the workshop. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Project WET is an award-winning, nonprofit water education program and publisher. The program facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids.

The Hawai‘i Nature Center offers rustic, overnight facilities free of charge to off-island workshop participants.

This workshop is supported by the Atherton Family Foundation, State of Hawaii Department of Health Safe Drinking Water Branch and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Hawaii Nature Center is located at 875 ‘Iao Valley Road, in Wailuku. For more information, contact Maui Program Manager Jay Franey at 244-6500, ext. 22, or jay@hawaiinaturecenter.org. For additional information, call 879-5390
