Learn-to-Swim and Junior Lifeguard programs will be offered this summer at various locations. The swim classes for children ages 4 through 10 will be held Upcountry and in Wailuku and Lahaina; the Junior Lifeguard programs for children ages 11 through 17 and 13 through 17 will be conducted in Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Hana and on Lana‘i.

Space is limited, and registrations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a suggested donation of $15 to the Hawaiian Lifeguard Association-Maui Chapter, for each course; age requirements must be met by December 31, 2008. Strong swimming skills are recommended for Junior Lifeguard courses, with most requiring a swim test at the time of registration.
