4th of July Makawao Paint-Out Invitational

Maui’s plein air painters to capture the essence of Upcountry.

Viewpoints Gallery has invited some of Maui’s most prestigious plein air painters to participate in the first “4th of July Makawao Paint-Out Invitational.” Residents and visitors alike are invited to follow the artists as they capture the island’s essence in a series of Upcountry moments, including a taste of Maui’s Winery at ‘Ulupalakua Ranch; sunset at Ali‘i Kula Lavender Farm; the beauty of an Upcountry artist’s private garden; sunrise at the summit of Haleakala; breakfast with the artists at Grandma’s Coffee Shop; and the excitement of the 4th of July Parade in Makawao.

The artworks will be exhibited until Wednesday, July 9, at Viewpoints Gallery, 3620 Baldwin in Makawao. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. For more information, call 572-5979.
