Paddles up for Hawaiian Canoe Club benefit event.

The seven-time defending state champion Hawaiian Canoe Club will host its annual ‘Aha‘aina fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu.

Hawaiian Canoe Club youth, or kamali‘i, will perform hula and chant learned in the club’s Summer Hawaiian Cultural Program. The fundraiser also will feature a buffet dinner and silent auction.

Tickets are $35, with proceeds benefiting more than 200 kamali‘i involved in club youth activities. Order tickets by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope and a check made to the nonprofit Hawaiian Kamali‘i Inc., P.O. Box 5053, Kahului, HI 96733.
