Private consultations are planned statewide. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is stepping up its successful collaboration with local lenders to meet and assist small business owners across the state with a series of special programs over the next several months. SBA Resource Days are free, private consultations designed to increase the awareness and use of the wide range of programs and services the agency provides.
On Thursday, July 31, consultations will be held at the Bank of Hawai‘i - Kahului Branch, 27 Pu‘unene Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“SBA has many tools to help business owners cope with the changing economy,” said SBA District Director Andrew Poepoe. “We want to get information and resources to Hawai‘i’s small firms to increase the likelihood that they successfully weather this slowdown. Banks across the state are helping us offer this valuable service for the convenience of both established small businesses and start-ups in their area. It’s important for small businesses to be proactive now.”
Experienced SBA specialists will meet with interested owners and entrepreneurs to discuss key issues regarding their business. The free 30-minute consultations will address the specific needs of each small business owner. The SBA staff is well versed in the latest resources available to finance most business purposes including working capital and long-term fixed assets, for training and technical assistance, and to identify business opportunities with government contracting.
Sessions are confidential, free and with no obligations to businesses. Appointments are highly recommended, since a limited number of time slots are available. Call 541-2990, ext. 210, to make an appointment.
