Julie’s Hope Fundraiser

“Wine and Tasty Tidbits” at the Grand Wailea to benefit cancer patient.

The public is invited to enjoy “Wine and Tasty Tidbits,” wine and food pairings created by Chef Faivre of the Grand Wailea and Ann Tuomela of Who Cut the Cheese in the Grand Wailea Haleakala Ballroom on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. This gala event is a fundraiser to help cover treatment costs for Julie Wood, the Maui Police Department’s Senior Criminalist (CSI scientist). She was diagnosed with a rare cancer on Valentine’s Day in 2006, and now needs the community’s help to cover skyrocketing medical bills.

The afternoon’s festivities will include live music, a silent and live auction and special wine and food selections to enhance the tasting experience. Silent auction items include artwork, custom jewelry, boat and fishing charters, restaurant and hotel gift certificates, and much more.

Ticket prices are $100 for silver seating and $150 for gold seating. Corporate tables are also available. Tickets can be purchased at Who Cut the Cheese located in the Azeka II Shopping Center on South Kihei Road in Kihei, by phone at (808) 283-7910, or online at www.mauigateway.com/~jgwood/Hope.htm. Visit the Website for event details and a preview of auction items. Monetary donations to “Julie’s Hope” are also gratefully accepted at any Bank of Hawai‘i branch.
