Maui Weekly

The Maui Tibetan Buddhist Dharma Center and the Venerable Lama Gyaltsen welcome the community to celebrate "Buddha's Birthday" on Saturday, May 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Known in the Tibetan tradition as Saga Dawa, the special ceremony will take place around the Great Paia Lha Bab Peace Stupa and temple gardens in Pa'ia.

At this "Community Gathering of Sacred Celebration & Offering of 108 Lotus Lights," prayers will be offered honoring important events in the historical Buddha Gautama's life--his birth, death and attainment of nirvana.
