For the tenth consecutive year, the nine Rotary Clubs on Maui will be involved in an island-wide Rotary Gives Thanks Food Drive for the Maui Food Bank. Rotarians will accept non-perishables and cash donations before Thanksgiving on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Safeway in Kahului, Maui Lani, Lanaina and Kihei; Cash n' Carry Warehouse in Kahului; Longs Drug Store at the Kulamalu Center in Pukalani; Lahaina Times; and Pukalani Superette.
The goal of the Maui Food Bank is to provide hunger relief for anyone who might be in need. Food and funds collected will be able to provide meals for working poor families, seniors on fixed incomes and single parents who rely on the Maui Food Bank just to make it month to month.
This Rotary Gives Thanks Food Drive is one of the many community service projects sponsored by Maui's Rotary clubs. For more information about these clubs, contact Assistant District Govs. Joanne Laird at 757-0981 or Hugh Chare at 572-3020.
Upcountry Rotary Treasurer Dick Thompson and Community Service Director Melanie Stephens are ready to accept donations for the Rotary Gives Thanks Food Drive.
